If the investment goes as planned, Amazon would acquire a 5% stake in the current market value of Bharti, which has more than 300 million subscribers in India. Amazon is the latest among a slew of global players -- which includes Facebook, Google & Microsoft -- who have shown interest in investing in India’s booming telecom market. Reports also suggest that the talks are in the initial stages and are highly confidential at the moment.
