Alphabet has, for the first time, revealed YouTube’s standalone annual revenue, which exceeded Netflix’s $45.18 billion
YouTube generated more than $60 billion in total revenue for the full year 2025, Alphabet has disclosed. This figure, which includes both advertising and subscription income (primarily from YouTube Premium and YouTube TV), was disclosed by Alphabet for the first time as a standalone annual total during its Q4 2025 earnings release on February 4, 2026.
The $60 billion-plus positions YouTube ahead of subscription-streaming leader Netflix, which reported $45.18 billion in full-year 2025 revenue.
Alphabet's overall performance in 2025 was strongest till date, with consolidated revenues reaching $402.8 billion surpassing $400 billion for the first time.
In Q4 alone, YouTube's advertising revenue stood at $11.38 billion, up 8.7% from the previous year. As per the company, the platform's growth was driven by a strong demand in direct-response advertising, continued expansion of YouTube Shorts, and adoption of paid subscriptions.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted the momentum in his earnings remarks: “YouTube’s annual revenues surpassed $60 billion across ads and subscriptions; we now have over 325 million paid subscriptions across consumer services, led by strong adoption for Google One and YouTube Premium.”
Engagement from viewers has increased on YouTube, too. Pichai mentioned that people watched over 700 million hours of podcasts on YouTube via TVs in October 2025 alone. He added that the NFL reached its highest ever-paid subscriber total for the Sunday Ticket package offered on YouTube. This disclosure underscores YouTube's evolution from a free video-sharing site into a dominant media and entertainment powerhouse.
