Anjana Ghosh moves out of Bisleri

Ending a 16-year stint with Bisleri, Director-Marketing & Business Development Anjana Ghosh has moved out of the company. She confirmed the news to e4m, saying that she wanted to get out of the routine and “start adding value and build another brand.”

Ghosh quipped, “It has been 16 years since I’ve joined Bisleri and I think such a long time at any place can make you complacent. The routine can kill the spark. So, I was doing a lot of thinking to myself and realised that this is the time to move on and look for other opportunities.”

However, Ghosh is currently taking a break and hasn't decided her next move yet.

Although, she will continue to consult new-age startups in marketing and distribution strategies, “I have been doing that for the past 2-3 years now, free of cost because I love to share knowledge. It helps that I have built a good rapport within the industry and there are so many people who keep getting in touch with me for some guidance,” she noted.

Ghosh has had an incredible tenure at Bisleri where she was involved in a lot of pioneering projects including the brand makeover from blue to green in 2006 and the latest foray into the e-commerce industry. The brand also worked on a slew of sustainability and plastic recycling initiatives.

Speaking about the same, Ghosh said, “I am very passionate about sustainability and the whole plastic recycling projects that we undertook. A lot of research went behind these projects.  It is something that I will take forward from here.”

Ghosh joined Bisleri in June 2006 after 15 years in the steel industry. She joined as Deputy General Manager, Sales & Marketing and over the next three years grew with the brand to General Manager and to Director.

Her introduction on the Bisleri website reads, “She is strategically and aggressively growing the brand by working on market penetration with a winning and prudent combination of backward and forward integration. Market penetration, revamping and restructuring of sales teams to increase bottling units is part of her winning plan. Her vision and foresight keeps Bisleri ahead of times and above all competitions. She has inculcated the never give up spirit in each of her team members which motivates them to take Bisleri to unprecedented growth. (sic)”
