During Q3 of 2023, the top 10 advertisers together covered 13 percent share of ad space

TAM AdEx recently launched its print advertising report for the quarter July to September 2023.

Print experienced a six percent increase in ad space from January-March'23 to April-June’23. However, from July to September 2023, there was a two percent decline in the same compared to January to March of the same year. Additionally, during Q3 of 2023, there was an 11 percent reduction in ad space compared to the same period in 2022 for print advertising.

The services sector claimed the top spot, capturing a 16 percent share of ad space in July to September 2023, surpassing its position in April to June in the same year.

Computers emerged as the sole newcomer in the top 10 sectors, securing a two percent share of ad space in July to September compared to the previous quarter. Together, the top 10 sectors added 82 percent share of ad space in July to September.

During July to September, Coaching/Competitive Exam Centre descended to ninth position with three percent share of ad space. Whereas, Public Issues ascended to fourth position with five percent share of ad space compared to its 10th position in Q2. Additionally, the top 10 categories collectively added 44 percent share of ad space in July-Sept.

Maruti Suzuki India was the leading advertiser during January-March’23 and April-June’23. During Q3’23, the top 10 advertisers together covered 13 percent share of ad space.

SBS Biotech ascended to first position in July-September’23 compared to its second position in the previous quarter, followed by Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motocorp, Kia, Reliance Retail. 38k plus exclusive advertisers were present in July to September’23 compared to April-June’23.

Kia Seltos entered the top 10 list of brands in Q3’23 and secured first position compared to its 78th position in Q2. 47k plus exclusive brands were present during Q3 compared to Q2.

Patanjali Divya OTC Products was an exclusive brand in Q3 compared to Q2. Also, the top 10 brands covered six percent share of ad space in July-September’23.

Public Issues among categories witnessed the highest increase in ad secondages with two fold growth followed by cars with 29 percent growth during Q3’23 compared to Q2’23. In terms of growth  percent, Corporate-IT category witnessed the highest growth  percent among the Top 10 i.e. four times in July-September of 2023.

Sales Promotion advertising covered 29 percent share of ad space in Print during Q3. Among Sales Promotions, Multiple Promotion secured first position with 52 percent share of ad space followed by Discount Promotion with 34 percent share. Top two promotions covered 86 percent share of ad space during Q3.
