Akhil Mehra is set to join Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) as Commercial Lead, sources told to Pitch
Mehra will succeed Mihir Sanghvi, who previously served as Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial, Procurement, and Sustainability. He brings nearly two decades of experience at Star India, most recently holding the position of Vice President, Commercial and Procurement for International Content, Kids, and Infotainment at Star TV Network since August 2019.
Earlier, in August 2017, Mehra served as Vice President and Commercial & Procurement Head for the Hindi Movies cluster at Disney Star. From July 2012, he led the commercial function for the English portfolio channels at Star TV Network as Vice President. Between July 2009 and June 2012, he was Assistant Vice President and Head of Network Compliance for the English channels portfolio. Mehra began his journey at Star India in October 2006 as Senior Manager.
Prior to entering the media sector, Mehra worked in the insurance industry with Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited as Senior Manager from June 2005 to September 2006.
