While Disney Star is tightlipped about the list of sponsors onboarded for IPL 2024 so far, sources have revealed that Asian Paints has come onboard as associate sponsor on TV. A key FMCG company and a BFSI brand are also expected to close the deal as main presenters by this week.

While we do not know the exact price at which the deal has been closed with the brands, as per the first rate-card released by Disney Star, which will air matches on its sports channels, it is seeking Rs 71 crore for co-presenting sponsorship and Rs 35 crore for associate sponsorship for HD channels. For SD channels, Disney Star is seeking outlays of Rs 167 crore and Rs 83 crore for co-presenting and associate sponsorships, respectively.

“Most brands are still in the negotiation stage and are hoping that the broadcaster will lower the prices closer to the event. As of now, the network is holding on to its rates,” said a senior media planner.

Disney Star was approached for comment but we did not receive any till the filing of this story.
