Patanjali, which is under fire for allegedly issuing misleading ads, on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court that it has published apologies across the country in 67 newspapers.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1595331589677-0'); });

The court responded with a scathing query. "Was it of the same size as your earlier ads?" Justice Hima Kohli asked.

The apex court had previously conveyed its dissatisfaction regarding the casual apology affidavits submitted by Patanjali Ayurved, Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna.

According to reports, during Tuesday's proceedings representing Ramdev, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi informed the court that apologies have been issued in newspapers. Responding to questions about the extent of these apologies, the senior counsel highlighted the significant costs associated with publishing such advertisements.

"It costs a lot.. lakhs of rupees," he said.  The court replied, "We are not bothered."

Ramdev has reportedly told the bench that the company will issue bigger apologies in the papers.

According to reports, Justice Kohli said, "Please cut out the ads and then supply it to us. Do not enlarge them and supply them. We want to see the actual size. This is our direction... we want to see that when you issue an ad, it does not mean we have to see it by a microscope."

The next hearing is likely to be held next week.
