Sun TV’s Q3 advertising revenue stood at nearly Rs 292 crore

Sun TV Network reported a modest increase in income in the third quarter of FY26, but higher operating expenses and increased depreciation continued to weigh on profitability.

Advertisement revenue for Q3 FY26 stood at Rs 291.94 crore, down from Rs 332.17 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income for the quarter rose 3.1% year on year to Rs 999 crore, compared with Rs 969 crore in Q3 FY25. For the nine months ended December 31, 2025, revenue increased 10.8% to Rs 3,918 crore from Rs 3,536 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.

Expenses, however, grew at a faster pace than income. Total expenditure for the December quarter rose 11.4% to Rs 558 crore from Rs 501 crore a year earlier. For the nine-month period, expenses climbed sharply by 25.4% to Rs 2,264 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 1,806 crore in FY25.

Depreciation and amortisation charges remained flat year on year at Rs 113 crore in Q3 FY26. On a nine-month basis, however, these costs jumped 47.8% to Rs 625 crore from Rs 423 crore in the previous fiscal.

Reflecting the higher cost base, profit for the quarter declined 11% to Rs 324 crore from Rs 364 crore a year ago. For the nine-month period, profit fell 9.3% to Rs 1,208 crore, compared with Rs 1,332 crore in FY25.

EBITDA for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, stood at Rs 409.79 crore, down 5.2% from Rs 432.14 crore in the year-ago period, indicating continued pressure on operating margins despite the growth in income.
