KFC and Pizza Hut operator appoints Manish Dawar as Chief Executive Officer

Devyani International, the operator of KFC and Pizza Hut outlets in India, has appointed its current Chief Financial Officer, Manish Dawar, as Chief Executive Officer.

Dawar, who has been with the company since 2021, will assume the CEO role from April 1, succeeding Viraj Joshi. Joshi will continue to be associated with the company as a non-executive director, according to media reports. Anupam Kumar, Executive Vice President – Finance, will take over as Chief Financial Officer.

The announcement comes at a time when the company has reported a sharp rise in quarterly losses and has unveiled a $934 million merger with Sapphire Foods.
