Jigar Rambhia quits Wavemaker after 15 years, joins Sporjo as COO

After a 15-year stint, Jigar Rambhia has stepped down as National Director and Head of Sports Business at Wavemaker - GroupM. Rambhia has joined Sporjo, a sports ed-tech start-up, as COO. Sporjo is an education initiative to help democratize sports education across India.

Rambhia joined Wavemaker in 2007 as Business Director where he was heading IPL media planning and buying team since its launch in 2008. He was also heading the ICC Media planning and buying team for the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and ICC T20 World Cup.


He also served as business head for key brands like Bajaj Allianz, Fiat, IDBI Bank, Shoppers Stop, Kings IX Punjab, and Pro Kabbadi.


In 2011, Rambhia was promoted as National Director and Head of Sports Business at Wavemaker where he was looking after the ESP(Entertainment Sports Partnership) business for Wavemaker India.

Prior to joining Wavemaker India, he was designated as business director at TME where he worked for over two years. He was also associated with companies like Madison Communication.
