Banijay acquires Endemol Shine India

Global entertainment company Banijay who had a 51% stake in content production company Endemol Shine India has reportedly taken complete control of the firm by buying the remaining 49% stake from CA Media. The acquisition has solidified its position as the largest independent content studio in the country.

Endemol Shine India, which produces top shows such as Bigg Boss, Master Chef India, and Khatron Ke Khiladi, is part of the global Endemol Shine Group. In 2012, CA Media brought a 49% stake in the company for an estimated Rs 250 crore. The objective was to make Endemol the biggest content production house in India. Deepak Dhar was appointed to lead Endemol India and was made the CEO of the company.

Reports say that Banijay paid between Rs 738 crore-Rs 821 crore to CA Media for the stake.
