TRAI extends last date of submission on National Broadcasting Policy

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) decided to extend the last date for submission of comments up to October 31 2023 for National Broadcasting Policy. The decision has been taken keeping in view the requests received from the stakeholders for extension of time for submission of comments on the above-mentioned pre-consultation paper.
 
The regulatory body had released a pre-consultation paper on inputs for formulation of "National Broadcasting Policy" on September 21, 2023.The last date of receiving comments from the stakeholders on the issues raised in the pre-consultation paper was fixed as October 10 2023.
 
The Broadcast Policy aims to identify the vision of a functional, vibrant, and resilient broadcasting sector which can project India’s diverse culture and rich heritage and help India’s transition to a digital and empowered economy.
 
TRAI said in an earlier press statement, “National Broadcasting Policy stipulating the vision, mission, strategies, and the action points could set the tone for a planned development and growth of the broadcasting sector in the country in the era of new and emerging technologies.”
