Himalaya Wellness appoints Varman M as Head-Media, Digital, Planning & Investment Strategy

Varman M has joined Himalaya Wellness Company as Head – Media & Digital Planning & Investment Strategy.

In his new role, he will lead the company’s end-to-end media and digital agenda, overseeing media planning, investments, performance marketing and long-term capability building. Varman will work closely with brand, business and agency partners to align media investments with business outcomes, while strengthening Himalaya’s data-led and insight-driven approach to marketing communications.

He brings nearly two decades of experience across media strategy, investment, digital marketing and large-scale brand building, having worked with leading consumer brands and top media agencies.

Prior to joining Himalaya Wellness Company, Varman served as Head – Media & Digital Marketing at Zydus Wellness, where he led media transformation initiatives across categories and portfolios with a focus on efficiency, innovation and measurable impact.

Before that, he was General Manager – Media Planning & Investment Strategy at Body Cupid Pvt Ltd, overseeing media investments for WOW Skin Science, WOW Life Science and Body Cupid. In this role, he played a key part in developing high-impact media investment frameworks aimed at maximising ROI across traditional and digital platforms, while supporting the brands’ rapid growth ambitions.

Varman has also spent over five years with The Himalaya Drug Company earlier in his career, where he served as Media Manager. During this tenure, he led the media function across television, print, radio, digital, content marketing, activations and brand PR, reporting directly to business leadership. He was instrumental in shaping Himalaya’s integrated media planning approach and was closely involved in major associations and celebrity partnerships, including collaborations with Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Royal Challengers Bangalore and the ICC, as well as innovative IPL-linked campaigns.

His professional journey also includes stints at Madison World and GroupM’s MEC, where he managed media investment, buying and strategy for marquee clients such as Cadbury, OREO, TVS, Flipkart and Accenture. He began his career in marketing and media roles at Sun TV Network and Chandamama India Ltd.
