Vi emerges as top brand in week 36: BARC

As per the weekly data, top ten advertisers’ weekly insertions grew by 10.68% whereas brands’ weekly insertions rose by 47.75% Vodafone Idea unveiled its combined new brand identity Vi on 7 September, which was launched with a lot of promotion and TV campaigns. Backed by the new identity, Vi became the top brand with highest insertions in week 36, while Vodafone Idea as an advertiser ranked third in the top ten advertisers list. As per the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, the week 36 witnessed an increase of 10.68% in total weekly insertions to 670, 802 insertions against 606, 087 insertions for advertisers whereas brands’ weekly impression grew 47.75% to 218,983 insertions as compared to 148,209. Hindustan Unilever continued to be biggest advertisers and this week registered 204,159 insertions followed by Reckitt Benckiser (India) on the second position with 178524 insertions and Vodafone Idea grabbed the third spot with 66314 insertions. ITC and Godrej Consumer Products bagged fourth and fifth spot this week and registered 42,175 and 37,332 insertions respectively. Procter & Gamble stood at number six with 32,717 insertions. Cadburys India, Colgate Palmolive India and Procter & Gamble Home Products grabbed seventh, eighth and ninth spots with 28,998, 27,153 and 27,054 insertions respectively. Brooke Bond Lipton stood at number ten with 26,376 insertions. Vi Cellular Phone Service led the top ten brands list this week and registered 66,313 insertions followed by Dettol Antiseptic Liquid on the second position with 36,400 insertions and Dettol Toilet Soaps on the third spot with 21,696 insertions. Dettol Liquid Soap bagged the fourth spot with 19,586 insertions followed by Glow & Lovely Advanced Multivitamin on the fifth position with 15,977 insertions and Surf Excel Easy Wash on the sixth spot with 14,434 insertions. Lizol, Dettol & Moms Soap bagged seventh and eighth spots with 13,058 insertions and 11,178 insertions respectively. Amazon.in and Jeevansaathi.com stood at ninth and tenth spot with 10,278 insertions and 10,063 insertions.
