Rapido’s ad spend touches Rs 252 crore in FY25

Rapido significantly increased its advertising and promotional spend to Rs 252 crore in FY25, as the mobility and delivery platform focused on accelerating user acquisition amid a sharp rise in revenues, according to media reports citing the company’s consolidated financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies.

The higher marketing outlay coincided with a strong jump in operating revenue, which rose to Rs 934 crore in FY25 from Rs 648 crore in FY24. A major driver of this growth was subscription income from captains and users purchasing ride passes and platform benefits, which surged nearly 14-fold to Rs 275 crore during the year.

The company’s delivery segment continued to gain traction, with revenue from food and parcel delivery services increasing 28.3% year-on-year to Rs 340 crore, becoming Rapido’s largest revenue stream. This marked a shift from FY24, when passenger-related revenue accounted for the biggest portion of the company’s top line.

Revenue from passenger transportation services, where Rapido directly operates vehicles, stood at Rs 21 crore. Advertising revenue, primarily from sponsored listings on the app, came in at Rs 16 crore, while other operating income, mainly from parking fees recovered from drivers, was reported at Rs 5 crore.

Net losses narrowed 30.5% to Rs 258 crore in FY25, down from Rs 371 crore in FY24. Research and development expenses for the year totaled Rs 108 crore, according to media reports citing regulatory filings.
