Vivek Abrol appointed as MD & CEO of Luminous Power Technologies

Luminous Power Technologies has appointed Vivek Abrol as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 19, 2026.

In his new role, Abrol will lead the company’s next phase of growth with a strong focus on profitability, while steering Luminous’ evolution into a comprehensive consumer energy solutions platform. His mandate includes scaling the solar and sustainable energy businesses, strengthening leadership in the inverter and battery segments, and investing in emerging and next-generation technologies. He will also focus on fostering innovation, accelerating a digital-first transformation, and building an agile, inclusive organisation to enhance customer outcomes and operational efficiency.

A seasoned business leader with over 25 years of experience—nearly a decade as a CEO—Abrol brings a proven track record across FMCG, stationery, and electricals. He began his career at ITC Ltd, where he spent 16 years in diverse cross-functional leadership roles, contributing to the building and scaling of FMCG businesses. He later held senior leadership positions, including Business Head and CEO, at organisations such as Pidilite Industries Ltd and RR Kabel Ltd, overseeing end-to-end operations across multiple sectors.

Most recently, as CEO of RR Kabel’s Consumer Electricals (FMEG) business, Abrol led a phase of rapid transformation, growing the business fivefold over 4.5 years. His tenure was marked by strong product-led innovation across categories such as fans, lighting, geysers, room heaters, and coolers. He also gained hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions and played a key role in the successful execution of the company’s initial public offering.
