Vasu Sharma has joined Pocket FM as Head of AI

Audio series platform Pocket FM has appointed former Meta AI (FAIR) scientist Vasu Sharma as Head of AI, reinforcing its focus on building advanced, AI-led storytelling and content creation capabilities. He will report to Prateek Dixit, co-founder, Pocket FM, and will spearhead the company’s AI research and applied innovation efforts across narrative generation, production intelligence, and large-scale localisation.

Sharma previously worked at Meta’s Facebook AI Research (FAIR) division, where he contributed to major multimodal and large language model initiatives, including Llama, Chameleon, MaVIL, and several next-generation audio-video foundation models.

Commenting on his appointment, Sharma said, “Pocket FM operates at a unique intersection of AI, creativity, and global storytelling. Few companies combine this level of scale, advanced AI, and a mature creator ecosystem. With a clear ambition to build the world’s leading AI-powered fiction writing model, the opportunity to develop fiction-native systems, creator-centric AI tools, and large-scale multimodal storytelling infrastructure is incredibly exciting. My focus will be on advancing Pocket LLMs and evolving the AI CoPilot into a definitive creative assistant for writers, enabling richer plots, preserving voice and emotional cadence, and localising stories with cultural precision. Ultimately, our goal is to unlock a new generation of IPs powered by AI and enabled by humans.”

In his new role, Sharma will drive the evolution of Pocket FM’s proprietary AI CoPilot and Pocket LLMs, which support story ideation, drafting, plot design, editing, emotional toning, and multi-language adaptation for the platform’s global creator community. He will play a key role in developing new fiction-writing models, building creator-first AI tools, and scaling high-quality, AI-assisted production workflows while preserving Pocket FM’s human-first creative ethos.
