Standard Chartered appoints Peter Burrill as Interim Group Chief Financial Officer

Standard Chartered PLC has named Peter Burrill as Interim Group Chief Financial Officer, taking over from Diego De Giorgi, who is stepping down from his role as Executive Director and GCFO.

Pete will operate out of London and will report directly to Group Chief Executive Bill Winters.

Currently serving as Group Head, Central Finance and Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Standard Chartered Bank, Pete joined the organisation in 2017. Before that, he worked at Deutsche Bank as Group Controller and Co-Head of Group Finance.

He began his professional journey at KPMG, where he spent two decades.

Bill Winters, Group Chief Executive, said: "In his role as deputy CFO, Pete brings deep sector experience. He also offers important continuity within our finance leadership and steps into this role as a highly respected member of our global leadership team. With his interim leadership, we are well placed to build on the strategic direction and momentum of our business. I would also like to thank Diego for his contribution as GCFO, including his strong support in delivering our strategy. We wish him every success in the future."
