Shireesh Joshi, Chief Business Officer and President - Network Expansion at Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), is set to move on from his role after serving the organisation for more than three years. Joshi joined ONDC in October 2021, where he spearheaded one of the most ambitious digital commerce transformation projects in India, backed by the Ministry of Commerce and DPIIT.
At ONDC, Joshi was instrumental in driving the adoption and growth of businesses via a new, open network approach to digital commerce. Under his leadership, ONDC worked towards enabling a level-playing field for sellers across India, reducing digital monopolies, and empowering small businesses, retailers, and startups to thrive in the e-commerce ecosystem.
Before his stint at ONDC, Joshi held leadership roles across industries and geographies. He served as COO - Strategic Marketing Group at Godrej, and prior to that, as Director of Strategic Projects (Business Development) and CMO at Bharti Airtel. With over 35 years of experience, Joshi has worked across multi-category organisations including PepsiCo, where he led strategy and business transformation, and Procter & Gamble, holding various marketing roles across India, Taiwan, and the ASEAN region.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (MBA, Marketing) and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (B.Tech, Electronics), Joshi has been recognised for his contributions to sectors ranging from FMCG, telecom, and retail to e-commerce and startups.
Details on his next move are yet to be confirmed.
