Senior journalist Vijay Rawat appointed Executive Editor at NDTV

Senior journalist Vijay Rawat has embarked on a new phase in his media journey by joining NDTV as Executive Editor. In this capacity, he will lead NDTV’s Hindi website, further reinforcing the network’s digital news presence.

In his new assignment, Rawat will report to Santosh Kumar, Senior Managing Editor, NDTV (Hindi Digital). With his extensive background in journalism, he is expected to contribute significantly to editorial direction and strengthen content output on the Hindi digital platform.

Vijay Rawat recently stepped down from his role at the India Today Group. He spent more than nine years with the organisation, where he served as Executive Editor of its Hindi portal, aajtak.in. His final working day with the group was January 21.

Originally from Gwalior, Vijay Rawat brings over 25 years of experience across print and digital media, having held important roles at several leading news organisations. He began his journalism career as a staff reporter with Dainik Jagran in Gwalior. He later worked extensively on the editorial desks of Haribhoomi, Rohtak, Amar Ujala, Noida, and Dainik Jagran, Noida. In 2008, he became part of the launch team of Network18’s Hindi news website IBNKhabar (now News18 India), where he spent more than eight years in roles ranging from copy editor to news editor. In December 2016, he joined Aaj Tak Digital as an Assistant Editor, and after concluding his tenure at the India Today Group, he has now moved to NDTV.

Rawat is widely regarded in the Hindi digital news space for his strong command over content, editorial sharpness, and leadership abilities. He holds a science degree from Jiwaji University in Gwalior, a diploma in journalism from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University in Agra, and an MA in journalism from Guru Jambheshwar University in Hisar.
