NDTV board renews Sanjay Pugalia’s term as whole-time director

The Board of Directors of New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV) convened a key meeting on January 28, 2026, during which several significant corporate decisions were cleared.

To begin with, the Board approved the company’s unaudited financial results for the quarter and nine-month period ending December 31, 2025. These results were presented on both standalone and consolidated bases. Prepared in line with SEBI regulations, the financial statements are also available on the company’s official website, ndtv.com, and include the auditor’s report from S. N. Dhawan & Company LLP.

Another major agenda item at the meeting was the reappointment of Sanjay Pugalia. The Board gave its approval for his reappointment as Whole-Time Director of NDTV for a fresh three-year term, running from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2029. This reappointment will, however, be subject to shareholder approval at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Additionally, the Board resolved to reappoint Sanjay Gupta & Associates as the company’s cost auditor for the financial year 2026–27.

Sanjay Pugalia is a prominent figure in the media industry, with decades of experience spanning television, digital, and print platforms. He played an instrumental role in the operations of CNBC Awaaz for 12 years and was part of its founding team. He has also served as News Director at Star News, led Zee News, and was among the founding members of Aaj Tak. In print, he has been associated with Business Standard and Navbharat Times. During the 1990s, he contributed regularly to BBC Hindi Radio. Prior to joining NDTV, he served as President and Editorial Director at Quint Digital Media Limited.

The company further clarified that Sanjay Pugalia does not share any familial ties with other directors on the Board and is not barred by SEBI or any other regulatory authority from holding the position.
