John Thangaraj, Chief Strategy Officer of Havas Creative Network India, has reportedly put in his papers, industry sources have told e4m.
Thangaraj was responsible for driving the strategic mandate of the creative network. He had joined Havas about nine months ago from FCB Group India, where he clocked over eight years. Sources say Thangaraj is currently serving his notice period at Havas and is likely to join Dentsu India as the Chief Strategy Officer.
Confirming the development about Thangaraj moving on from Havas, Rana Barua, Group CEO, Havas India, South East Asia & North Asia said, “It was great working with John over the last year. We wish him the best for his future endeavours.”
e4m reached out to the other stakeholders too but didn’t receive a comment from Dentsu or Thangaraj on whether he was joining Dentsu, at the time of filing the story.
Thangaraj has over 22 years of experience in the A&M industry having worked with companies like Rediffusion, MullenLowe Lintas Group, Mindshare and FCB where in his last role he was the Group Chief Strategy Officer. Thangaraj is a multi-functional marketing communications strategist across consumer research, marketing, advertising and media.
With a postgraduate degree in Marketing, Advertising, and Communication, he began his career in PR in 2002. In 2007, Thangaraj joined adidas, managing the launch and promotion of the adidas originals brand in India. In his numerous roles on the agency side, he has handled brands like Hindustan Times, Nestle, HCL Technologies, Pepsico, Lufthansa, GlaxoSmithKline, Google, Uber, Bata, Pernod Ricard and Vistara.
