Anita Kotwani has stepped down from her role as Chief Client Officer at dentsu South Asia, sources close to the development have confirmed to e4m. Kotwani, who joined the network in 2020 as CEO of Carat India, exits after steering several key verticals and driving major organisational shifts across the group.She initially led Carat through a fast-changing media landscape marked by evolving client needs, rapid digital adoption, and heightened competition. In March 2023, she was elevated to CEO, Media South Asia, overseeing Carat, iProspect, dentsu X, Posterscope, and Amplifi. During this period, she collaborated closely with global and regional teams to reposition dentsu’s media offerings into a more cohesive, digital-first proposition.
Her role expanded further this year when she became Chief Client Officer, taking charge of group-level client relationships across Creative, Media, CXM, Brand Experience, Retail, and Sports–Gaming–Entertainment (SGE). She focused on strengthening integrated solutions and accelerating growth across priority markets.Before joining dentsu, Kotwani spent over 15 years at Mindshare India, rising to national head of new business and contributing significantly to major client wins across FMCG, entertainment, BFSI, and diversified conglomerates. She earlier held leadership positions at Initiative (Lintas Media Group), managing marquee brands such as Unilever, Videocon, and Bombay Dyeing, while also working on media optimisation tools and research frameworks.
Her career began at the Dainik Bhaskar Group, where she played an instrumental role in launching the brand across new North Indian markets through sales strategy, market expansion, and data-driven planning.
