Amita Madhvani appointed CEO of Equinox Films

Equinox Films, together with Ram Madhvani Films and Equinox Virtual, has announced a leadership restructuring designed to strengthen its operations as the group expands across advertising, long-form content, and technology-driven storytelling.

As part of the realignment, Co-Founder Amita Madhvani has taken on the additional role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She will oversee growth and business strategy across all three entities, focusing on new formats and fostering long-term partnerships. Ram Madhvani remains Founder and Chairman, continuing to provide creative direction and strategic oversight.

Commenting on the realignment, Ram Madhvani said, "Reinvention is key for us. This approach allows us to embrace new technologies and storytelling methods with depth and meaning while staying true to our culture. Having a vision and passing it on—whether in films, series, advertising, VR, AI, or emerging storytelling formats—is important. With Amita, Manoj, Khvafar, and the entire team, we continue to inspire each other through a shared value system." Amita Madhvani added, "Assuming this role at a time when technology is reshaping storytelling is both exciting and challenging. Our focus is on expanding our creative universe, from redefining advertising films to developing AI-driven characters and immersive VR experiences. As we scale, we aim to produce work that is innovative, relevant, and ambitious while building businesses equipped for the future."

Within Equinox Films, Manoj Shroff, Business Head and Executive Producer, will continue leading the advertising division with a focus on efficiency, scale, and integrating new production technologies. At Equinox Virtual, Khvafar Vakharia, Business Head and Creative Executive Producer, will drive growth across immersive, AI-powered, and experimental storytelling projects. This leadership move follows a year of diverse output across advertising, branded content, and immersive storytelling.

Ram Madhvani’s creative legacy spans multiple formats, with notable achievements including a National Award for Neerja, two Cannes Lions for advertising, and an International Emmy nomination for Aarya. Recent projects include the series The Waking of a Nation, recognized for its socially resonant themes. Equinox Films has also delivered campaigns for brands such as Airtel, Hilton, Nykaa featuring Deepika Padukone, Aldo with Vedang Raina and Rasha Thadani, and Nestlé Milkmaid.

On the technology side, Equinox Virtual has expanded its portfolio with an AI-VR mythological project inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, as well as launching its original AI-driven musical IP, Mohini – Khud Se Pyaar.

Operating from a shared creative hub while pursuing distinct mandates, the three companies continue to collaborate closely, reflecting a commitment to blending scale with innovation in the next era of storytelling.
