Total revenue down by 3% to Rs 2,013 crore
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has reported a total revenue of Rs 2,013.3 crore in the third quarter of financial year 2024-25, down by 2.8% from Rs 2,073.4 crore in the same period last fiscal.
According to the financial statement for the third quarter ending December 31, 2024, the company’s profit after tax (PAT) jumped by 207 % to Rs 163.6 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 53.3 crore in Q3 FY24.
The operating revenue of the company came down by 3% in Q3 FY25 to Rs 1978.8 crore from Rs 2,045.7 crore in Q3 FY24.
The advertising revenue for Q3 FY25 came down by 8% to Rs 940.6 crore from Rs 1,027.4 crore in Q3 FY24.
According to the company, the third quarter of FY25 was a tough quarter for advertising growth, wherein broad consumption slowed down and outweighed sector season pickup.
“While we did see some pickup in October closer to Diwali, the momentum quickly cooled down in November-December. From our vantage point, the impact of this consumption weakness and resulted FMCG ad spend slowdown has been more pronounced in the urban areas and in the heartland, while the south cluster of the other language markets are still holding relatively better. As a result, our ad revenues were up 4% Q-o-Q and still down 8% Y-o-Y,” said Mukund Galgali, Deputy CEO, ZEEL, during the earnings call.
However, the subscription revenue grew by 7% to Rs 982.5 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 921.3 crore in the same period previous fiscal driven by both linear subscription revenue and OTT platform ZEE5, the company said.
