Meta has begun testing Instagram Reels on TV

Meta has begun testing Instagram for TV, now available in the US on Amazon Fire TV devices. According to the Meta blog, Instagram for TV is designed for shared viewing, with content standards tailored for a broad audience.

During this test, Reels generally follow the PG-13 rating system recently introduced on the mobile app. For teens, Instagram for TV offers the same safeguards as the mobile experience, including restrictions on content, comments, and profiles that may be inappropriate for users under 18.

Time spent on Instagram for TV counts toward a teen’s overall usage limit, alongside mobile app activity, and teens will receive the same reminders about approaching or reaching those limits, including Sleep Mode alerts.
