Apple launches iPhone 17 series; India pricing revealed for iPhone Air and other models

Apple’s biggest stage of the year, its annual fall showcase in Cupertino, delivered on the promise of being “awe dropping.” CEO Tim Cook introduced the much-awaited iPhone 17 lineup, headlined by the all-new iPhone Air, Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet at just 5.6 mm. The iPhone Air emerged as the highlight of the annual product launch, with Apple emphasising it as the most durable iPhone to date. Apple expanded its product lineup with a refreshed AirPods Pro and introduced a blood pressure monitoring feature in the newest Apple Watch model.

Starting at ?1,19,900 in India, iPhone Air packs the A19 Pro chip, adaptive battery mode, dual-capture video, and comes in four finishes: Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue.

The iPhone 17 continues at ?82,900, offering a brighter scratch-resistant screen, upgraded AI features, and a 48MP main camera with “Center Stage” front lens technology. For power users, Apple raised the price of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, priced at ?1,34,900 and ?1,49,900, respectively in India. With expanded storage beginning at 256 GB, these models boast Apple’s most advanced camera system yet. It includes an 8x telephoto lens and larger sensors and will be available in silver, deep blue, and cosmic orange.

Apple also leaned on ecosystem strength. Priced at ?25900 in India, the AirPods Pro 3 introduces live translation, heart-rate sensing, enhanced workouts, and improved active noise cancellation. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Series 11, budget-friendly SE 3, and rugged Ultra 3 bring new health features like sleep scoring, menstrual tracking, and improved durability, alongside a refreshed Liquid Glass design. The blood pressure monitoring feature is awaiting regulatory clearance. While it may not identify every instance of high blood pressure, Apple anticipates it will alert approximately one million users and plans to roll it out across 150 countries.

All devices run on iOS 26, first teased at WWDC, with a transparent “Liquid Glass” look and Apple Intelligence features rolling out in multiple languages. Pre-orders open September 12, with general availability starting September 19 in India and 62 other markets, followed by wider release on September 26.

With slimmer designs, AI-powered features, and smarter wearables, Apple’s latest lineup positions itself not just as a hardware refresh but as a leap into the next phase of intelligent, everyday technology.
