Z Media has announced that the company has approved two important reappointments.
According to the information received under regulatory provisions, the company has reappointed independent director Sushant Kumar Panda for a second term. His new term will be for five years from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2030. Along with this, Dinesh Kumar Garg has been appointed as the full-time director of the company, whose term will be for three years from 20 September 2025 to 19 September 2028.
Sushant Kumar Panda
Sushant Kumar Panda is a 1982 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer. He served for 37 years in the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Department under the Ministry of Finance and retired in April 2019. During his long tenure, he held several senior positions in the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Revenue. He was also a member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the apex indirect tax policy making body. Apart from this, he also held the post of Special Secretary in the Government of India.
In his career, Shri Panda has held important assignments in various states including Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, North Eastern states, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi. As Special Director in the Enforcement Directorate, he investigated cases related to Foreign Exchange Act and Prevention of Money Laundering Act. He also served as Commissioner in the Delhi-based Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) and as Chief Commissioner, Eastern Zone. He is a post graduate in Political Science and a Law Graduate.
Dinesh Kumar Garg
Dinesh Garg is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in the financial sector. He has extensive expertise in financial control and reporting, corporate restructuring, fund raising, internal and management audit and legal matters.
He has been a part of the core team of Zee Media Corporation Limited in its growth. Apart from this, he has also held senior management level responsibilities in other organizations.
Both the appointments will be effective after all necessary regulatory and statutory approvals, the company said.
