Dhruv Dhawan has announced that he has joined The Trade Desk after wrapping up his stint with Jiostar on March 31.
He shared an elaborate post on LinkedIn: "On March 31st, I ended my stint at Jiostar ( erstwhile Disney+ Hotstar). In the time I spent there, I was blessed to work with an amazing set of leaders, peers and an absolute amazing team I led. I loved my time learning the ropes on driving business and operations for Live sports and Entertainment, finding the balance between free users vs Subscribers , Understanding the world of Content specially around the P&L and the combined power of Linear and Digital Streaming. Thank you Ajit Varghese Sajith Sivanandan Rishi Gaind Kevin Vaz for the opportunity. Truly Grateful. So Whats next?

On March 20, exchange4media reported that Dhawan will be joining The Trade Desk as Vice President-Revenue. Dhawan’s last role was Head of Ads at Disney+ Hotstar (which has since merged with JioCinema to form JioStar). At The Trade Desk, Dhawan’s will be primarily a revenue role which will see him concentrate on the Demand Side Platform’s growth opportunities even as he will work to consolidate existing relationships as well as forge new partnerships.
Working with top advertisers and agencies, Dhawan will lead the business side of the company and spearhead profitability and growth. Dhawan comes to his new role with a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of marketing, revenue growth, and business development.
Over the course of his 23 years of experience, Dhawan has worked with some of the leading brands in the media and technology domains and has handled a diverse portfolio. This has included nine years at Google in a range of roles as well as stints at Bharti Airtel and Accenture.
