Sonya Madeira’s RICE to be part of FINN Partners

Sonya Madeira, Founder of RICE Communications, has decided to move out of the PR industry after a stint of 16 years.

In a post on LinkedIn, Madeira said that RICE will be part of FINN Partners.

The leadership team at RICE will also be part of the FINN partnership.

The end of an era. It was simply a matter of time before it was my turn to write this in a personal context.

Madeira wrote in the post:

"Thirty years after starting in the Public Relations industry, and sixteen years after setting up RICE, I am happy to be moving on from the business.

As of March 1, 2025, RICE is a part of FINN Partners! The wonderful folks at FINN (a special shout-out to Peter Finn, Howard Solomon and Jean-Michel Dumont) who spotted the potential in RICE.

Our fabulous team of 60 across six countries, a solid portfolio of clients and experience, and a breadth of regional service offerings are all now a part of FINN. With aligned values and a similar outlook for the future, it is a great new home for RICE, and I look forward to keeping track of all the exciting plans as they bear fruit.

Throwback: a very special word of thanks to our anchor clients to whom I remain immensely grateful. To the team who were there in January 2009, a huge thank you too! We started RICE with some laptops and mobile phones, working out of a coffee shop, hot-desking at client offices, and slowly we built an amazing consultancy.

Over the years, we have seen great success and created many memories, with team members, clients and partners, alike. There are too many to individually name, but a heart-felt thanks to each and every one of you.

The Leadership Team at RICE continues, part of an exciting future with FINN.

As for me, the years have been joyful, rewarding and fulfilling. As I embark on a new phase of my own growth journey, I begin to think of what next. Ideas welcome!!
