Siddharth Chawla named COO at Godfrey Phillips India

Godfrey Phillips India has announced the appointment of Siddharth Chawla as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). According to a stock exchange filing, Chawla’s role will be effective from January 7, 2025, or another mutually agreed-upon date.

Chawla’s appointment follows the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. “Pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (‘SEBI Listing Regulations’), we wish to inform you that on basis of recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company have today i.e. on 26th December 2024 at 9.57 A.M., approved the appointment of Mr. Siddharth Chawla as Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) and Senior Management Personnel of the Company”, the filing stated. Siddharth Chawla is a business leader with about 24 years of rich and diverse experience including in senior management and cross-functional leadership positions. He started his career with the FMCG major ITC as a management trainee in 2001 and was its Business Head-North India when he left it in 2019. Thereafter, he worked for 3 years as Business Head of Non-Essentials with the e-commerce unicorn startup Udaan.

For the last 2 years, he has been working as Chief Growth Officer with Pharmarack Technologies, e-B2B commerce platform for the pharmaceutical industry. In his previous stints, he has successfully developed and transformed go-to-market strategy, established new business systems & processes and supply chain networks, launched multiple new categories & distribution channels while effectively managing large distributed teams in complex business environments and matrix structures.
