Senthil Chengalvarayan steps down as NDTV whole-time Director

Veteran journalist and media professional Senthil Chengalvarayan will step down from his role as Whole-Time Director of New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV), effective April 1, 2025. The announcement was made through a regulatory filing by NDTV.

While Chengalvarayan will relinquish his executive responsibilities, he will continue to serve on the NDTV board in a non-executive capacity. The decision to transition from an executive to a non-executive role has been attributed to personal reasons.

Chengalvarayan, a respected figure in Indian business journalism, has held key editorial and leadership roles over the years. Prior to joining NDTV’s board, he served as the founding editor of CNBC-TV18 and played a prominent role in shaping the business news landscape in India. His editorial insights and industry experience have been instrumental during his tenure at NDTV, particularly in aligning the channel's business content with evolving viewer expectations.

Alongside this change, NDTV has also reappointed Upendra Kumar Sinha and Dipali Goenka as Independent Directors on the board for another term of three years, starting April 1. These reappointments have been approved by shareholders through a postal ballot process.

Meanwhile, Upendra Kumar Sinha has been reappointed as Independent Director and Chairperson of the company for a second term of three years. His term will be from March 27, 2025 to March 26, 2028.

Dipali Balakrishna Goenka has been reappointed as Independent Director for a second term of three years. Her term will also be from March 27, 2025 to March 26, 2028.

Dinesh Kumar Mittal has been reappointed as Independent Director for a second term of three years. His term will be from June 27, 2025 to June 26, 2028.
