Oommen Thomas to head RICE Adamas Group as CEO

Kolkata-based RICE Adamas Group has appointed Oommen Thomas as its Group CEO. Thomas, who retired as National Head at The ABP Group, takes charge of one of West Bengal’s largest education conglomerates. Founded in 1985 by Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray, the Group has a strong presence in the education sector through Adamas University and RICE Education, a well-known player in competitive exam training. Over the years, it has also diversified with Adamas Tech Consulting, which offers IT and digital solutions across India, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, England, and the US, with expansion plans for Canada, Australia, and Singapore. The Group also operates schools - Adamas International, Adamas World School, and Adamas Kids, and invests in initiatives around sports, skill development, and philanthropy. Thomas’ move marks a significant leadership change for the Kolkata-headquartered group as it looks to strengthen both its education and technology businesses.
