HNGIL Appoints Rakesh Mehta as COO, North Following INSCO Acquisition

Hindustan National Glass & Industries Limited (HNGIL) has announced the appointment of Rakesh Mehta as Chief Operating Officer (COO), North, effective immediately. The appointment comes in the wake of HNGIL’s acquisition by Independent Sugar Corporation Limited (INSCO), part of the Uganda-based Madhvani Group, in September 2025.

In his new role, Mehta will oversee manufacturing facilities across key northern locations, with a focus on supply chain optimisation, production efficiency, capacity utilisation, and strategic market expansion. His mandate will also include deepening partnerships with clients across pharmaceuticals, liquor, beverages, and food packaging segments, where demand for high-quality container glass continues to rise.

Prior to joining HNGIL, he served as Finance Head – North at Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd since 2013. He has also held senior roles at Reliance Retail, where he managed large-scale distribution, logistics, and operations across Gurugram and other northern markets.
