Dina Powell McCormick has been appointed President and Vice Chairman at Meta, marking a significant addition to the company’s leadership team. A long-serving member of Meta’s Board of Directors, she has worked closely with the company as it accelerates its ambitions in frontier artificial intelligence and personal superintelligence.
In her expanded role, Powell McCormick will join Meta’s management team and play a central role in shaping the company’s overall strategy and execution. She will collaborate closely with the compute and infrastructure teams to ensure that Meta’s multi-billion-dollar investments are aligned with its long-term goals and generate positive economic impact across the regions where the company operates globally.
She will also be tasked with building new strategic capital partnerships and identifying innovative avenues to expand Meta’s long-term investment capacity.
Announcing the appointment, Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Powell McCormick’s deep experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her strong international relationships, positions her well to support Meta in its next phase of growth as President and Vice Chairman.
Powell McCormick brings more than 25 years of experience spanning global finance, national security and economic development. She spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs as a partner, holding several senior leadership roles including serving on the firm’s Management Committee and leading its Global Sovereign Investment Banking business. During her tenure, she also spearheaded major economic development initiatives such as 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses and One Million Black Women, all focused on creating long-term economic opportunity worldwide.
Her public service career includes working with two US presidents. She served as Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald J. Trump and previously held roles as Senior White House Advisor and Assistant Secretary of State under President George W. Bush during the tenure of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Most recently, Powell McCormick was Vice Chair, President and Head of Global Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners.
