In a LinkedIn post, Ashish Sehgal announced that he has assumed charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Times TV Network and Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of Times Media & Entertainment. He will work under the guidance of N. Subramanian, Group CEO of The Times Group.
In a LinkedIn post, Sehgal wrote: “I’m honoured and thrilled to begin a new chapter as the CEO of Times TV Network and Chief Growth Officer of Times Media & Entertainment. My sincere thanks to MD Mr. Vineet Jain and Mr. N. Subramanian for the trust they have placed in me to take the vision forward. I look forward to driving transformation, building scale and contributing meaningfully to the growth of the Group and to the growth of the Indian media industry as a whole. Here’s to new horizons, bigger ambitions, and soaring upwards and beyond.”
In his new role as CEO, Sehgal will oversee the strategic direction and expansion of the news and entertainment TV channels, strengthen platform synergy and reinforce the network’s market leadership. As CGO, his mandate is to identify new growth avenues, forge strategic partnerships, and drive diversification to support the Times Group’s future focused growth strategy.
An industry veteran, Sehgal has over three decades of experience in revenue acceleration and organizational transformation. He has served at the CXO level for the past 14 years. In his previous role, he spent nearly two decades at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, most recently serving as Chief Growth Officer – Broadcast and Digital, where he oversaw topline delivery across 50+ TV channels, ZEE5, International Markets, and Government & Brand Solutions.
Early on in his career, he worked at Star India, where he played a pivotal role in launching Star Gold and Viva Pop Stars, introduced impact selling and time-band monetization models that reshaped television sales in India. During his stint with Buena Vista Television, he contributed to the launch of ESPN and Hallmark in India, and was part of the team that launched the country’s first FM radio channel with The Times Group.
