WWE's 'Raw' leaps into streaming era with Netflix in landmark $500M deal

WWE has inked a groundbreaking deal with Netflix, making the streaming giant the exclusive home for its flagship weekly live pro wrestling show, "Raw," starting January 2025. This marks the first time in its three-decade history that "Raw" will not premiere on a linear television network.

The deal, valued at $500 million per year for a decade, grants Netflix the option to opt out after the initial five years and extend the partnership for an additional decade. WWE's current five-year deal with NBCUniversal for US rights to "Raw" is estimated at approximately $250 million-$260 million per year.

Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "We are excited to have WWE Raw, with its huge and passionate multigenerational fan base, on Netflix." Bajaria highlighted the synergy between Netflix's reach, recommendations, and fandom with WWE, aiming to deliver enhanced joy and value to audiences.

WWE's existing deal with NBCUniversal has "Raw" airing on the USA Network until October 2024. The location for "Raw" between the conclusion of that deal and the commencement of the Netflix deal is yet to be determined.
