A cavalcade of auto brands from Mitsubishi to Range Rover took over Rohit Shetty's latest Singham instalment with well-placed product appearances

Singham Again: Auto brands vroom into action in the Ajay Devgn starrer

The third instalment of Rohit Shetty’s Singham series Singham Again has been dominating the box office with an estimated collection of Rs 125 crore during the Diwali weekend.

Produced by former Viacom18 exec Jyoti Deshpande, the iconic Ajay Devgn starrer is overloaded with Bollywood’s towering actors like Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan (in a cameo) and more. And when such a star-studded commercial property hits the cinema screens, brands want to make the most of it.

One of the signature moves of filmmaker Shetty is his penchant for leaving physics out of his script and sending cars flying into the skies, giving auto brands the perfect opportunity to park their products amid the action-packed scenes.

While many brands were chosen to be blurred or removed completely, the others took full advantage of the audience’s attention.

Mahindra

Devgn’s entry is shown alongside a white Mahindra Scorpio Rakshak which has clear branding even during his slow motion gun-firing scenes all through the film. A similar branding is also visible during the thrilling entry of Deepika Padukone (Shakti Shetty) as well. Multiple scenes also show the car’s heroic resistance skills during run and chase, accidents, slips, and more.

Ashok Leyland

During the first few scenes where Omar Hafeez is arrested, a security squad is seen getting down from Ashok Leyland Army Trucks.

Range Rover

Arjun Kapoor, who plays the negative role in the film, is shown using Range Rover during multiple scenes, especially during his entry at the police station.

Audi and Mitsubishi

When Bajirao Singham lands in Colombo, he rides around in a navy blue Audi SUV. A Mitsubishi SUV is also seen during one chase scene.

Isuzu

During the climax scenes of the film at a cargo port in Colombo, a slow-motion car spin is shown when Kareena Kapoor (Avni) runs towards Devgn (Singham). During this scene, the car’s logo is clearly shown to be an Isuzu.

Maersk, Triton, Cronos

Since the final few scenes were shot at a Cargo port, there was ample room for shipping companies to place their brand logos. Multinational shipping brands like Maersk, Triton and Cronos were seen printed on large cargo containers all through the second half of the film.

What many may not have noticed is, while Hyundai did not participate in the tossing of cars during fight scenes, their brand name was smartly placed on some of the cargo containers in the background.

Hugo Boss

Singham Again did not feature many fashion and apparel brands which surely seemed like a missed opportunity, but in one specific scene where Singham is talking to the minister at his office shows his shirt to have "Boss" printed on the pocket very faintly.

Others

Besides the brands mentioned above, the introductory credits mentioned Pogo, Swiggy, Clear water, Action Tesa shoes, Airtel Payments Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Merch It Up, Patanjali, Godrej and POCO Mobiles as their brand partners. Reliance Jio, Reliance Smart, Reliance Digital, Jio TV+, JioSaavn too were mentioned during this cut.

Astonishingly, the iconic Ray Ban sunglasses of the cops were removed or blurred all through the film and so were the gadgets. Many more brands could have been placed smartly during the film, nevertheless, car brands definitely have collaborated with the movie’s ethos and script.
