SCSB Foundation requests SEBI for action against ULLU App

Save Culture Save Bharat Foundation has filed a complaint against ULLU Digital App with the SEBI since they have acted in contravention of various laws including security laws and regulations such as Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018 and Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 issued by SEBI to regulate listing of companies and issuance of public offer.

The complaint filed by Uday Mahurkar, Founder, Save Culture Save Bharat Foundation suggests the organisation has provided wrong and misleading information regarding the history of criminal cases against its promoters. Moreover, a promoter named Vibhu Agarwal has been accused of outraging the modesty of a women employee of ULLU App.

Agarwal has been in the news in the past for producing and releasing sexually perverted content and several complaints and cases have been filed against ULLU App along with others for the censorship of such sexually perverted content.

A complaint against the ULLU App has been registered with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) wherein it has been alleged that ULLU App, which is easily available on both Google Play Store and Apple iOS mobile platforms, produces and distributes extremely obscene and objectionable contents including shows or scenes depicting sexual intercourse between the school children; and specific shows or episodes having explicit sexual scenes, sexually explicit thumbnails and plotlines etc. designed specifically to target young impressionable minds of school going children.

The complaint mentioned, “That business activities related to production of obscene, indecent and pornographic material by the ULLU is not only violative of various Laws and statutes of India but also against the public morality and decency. It is also violative of restrictions imposed on freedom of speech and expression under Article 19(2) of the Constitution of India and as such is against the fundamental right to dignity enshrined under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. It is pertinent to mention here that ULLU DIGITAL LIMITED is liable to be inspected, inquired, and investigated.”
