After Jackie Shroff, Prabhu Deva and Shankar Mahadevan left us mystified with their "non-presence" in MakeMyTrip's ads, cricket greats Ravi Shastri and Virender Sehwag thrilled the internet with a similar ad of their own for the travel app. In a similar vein, both cricketers have obscured their faces, letting the "asli star" or MakeMyTrip shine through.

The ad shows Shastri and Sehwag relaxing in a sauna, with the former offering a rivetting cricket commentary. The two have their faces hidden behind a thick blanket of steam, in keeping with the theme of the campaign.

Shastri has also teased the campaign by sharing BTS pictures from the ad shoot, titling them as "thrist trap."

The ad is part of the platform's "Asli Star" campaign where popular celebrities with distinct voices and styles obscure their faces to prove a point about stardom. "MakeMyTrip plays on this insight to showcase the platform as the 'Asli Star' of the campaign, highlighting the benefits of booking hotels and homestays on the platform," said the company.

The creative campaign has been conceptualised by Talented and directed by Suresh Triveni, Open Image and Radhika Produces Films.
