As per the company’s filings on BSE, SEBI has approved the sale of Quint’s Hindi YouTube Channel to Shvaas Creations for an aggregate consideration of Rs 39.5 lakh

Quint divests Hindi YouTube channel and website

Quint Digital Limited has sold its Hindi website and ‘Quint Hindi’ YouTube channel, including perpetual content licence and other recognized assets. 

According to the company’s official filings on BSE, SEBI has also considered and given its approval for the sale of Quint’s Hindi YouTube Channel to Shvaas Creations Private Limited for an aggregate consideration of Rs 39.5 lakh (Rs 39,52,326 in exact) plus applicable taxes. In December 2024, the company informed the exchanges that Quint Hindi activities will be halted on or before March 31, 2025.

Shvaas Creations, which was incorporated on December 17, 2024 by Vani Bisht and Shailesh Chaturvedi, proposes to launch an online digital platform under the brand name ‘Kisan India’.

In accordance with the terms, Quint Digital Limited will acquire 77.5% stake in Shvaas as well. Therefore, Shvaas will become a subsidiary of the company. 

Recently, Quint Digital also invested 8.4 per cent in an American firm Lee Enterprises for a value of USD 5.49 million. As per Securities and Exchange Commission’s official document, the number of shares acquired were 5,13,000. 

In Q3 (Oct-Dec) of Financial Year 2024-25, Quint’s balance sheet reflected a revenue from operations of Rs 85.12 crore, marking a 46% YoY decrease from Rs 157.65 crore in Q3 of FY 2023-24. 

Subsequently, the total income for the digital publication amounted to Rs 159.78 crore, recording a drop of 27% from last fiscal’s similar quarter where it stood at Rs 220.31 crore. 

The total loss for the period turned out to be Rs 31.54 crore for Q3 of FY25. The losses have widened since the preceding quarter, as the same figure showed a loss of Rs 7.9 crore in the quarter ended 30 September, 2024.
