Punit Goenka withdraws consent for re-appointment as MD of ZEEL

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited  (ZEEL) has submitted to SEBI the letter received from Punit Goenka resigning from the office of Managing Director of the Company and withdrawing his consent for his re-appointment as the same.

In the letter dated November 18, Goenka explains his stance, wanting to immediately resign as MD to focus on his “operational responsibilities.”

“Accordingly, I withdraw my consent to be re-appointed as a Managing Director – Key Managerial Personnel of the Company proposed in the Notice of the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company scheduled to be held on November 28, 2024,” wrote Goenka .

“Further, I am willing to continue as a Chief Executive Officer of the Company if the same can be considered and approved by the Board.

“I wish to express my gratitude towards the Board of the Company for giving me an opportunity to serve as a Managing Director of the Company,” he added.

Goenka intends to dedicate his time entirely towards the future of the company by enhancing its performance and profitability levels in line with the direction given by the Board/Nomination and Remuneration Committee in its meeting dated 15th November 2024.

He expressed his desire to dedicate his efforts entirely towards the Company’s future aspirations in order to ensure optimal utilization of his time.
