Mercedes-Benz India achieves record sales in 2024: 19,565 units sold, EV growth soars

Mercedes-Benz India has reported its best-ever sales performance in 2024, delivering 19,565 units, a 12.4% growth compared to the previous year. The company saw significant milestones across its portfolio, with Top-End Vehicle (TEV) sales growing by 30%. Electric Vehicles (EVs) also high growth for the luxury auto brand with a 94% growth, contributing over 6% of total sales for them.

Additionally, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services crossed a portfolio of Rs 10,000 crore, with every second car sold being financed through its flexible financial solutions.

Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd., shared a detailed post on a professional networking site, highlighting more reasons to celebrate.

“We have reached a significant milestone: 200,000 three-pointed stars now grace the Indian roads. Mercedes-Benz is the most desirable luxury car brand in the country, shaping the desire of young Indian customers,” he said.

“While reviewing these figures, I noticed an intriguing trend as we completed 30 years of our operations in India. In the first 20 years, (1994 to 2013) we sold about 50,000 cars. However, the next 150,000 cars were sold in just the past decade. (2014-2024) What stands out even more is that the last 100,000 were sold in the last six years alone, despite challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

According to him, these numbers reflect the growing aspirations of Indians to own a Mercedes-Benz than ever before.

“I attribute this success to my incredible team at Mercedes-Benz India, my colleagues in Stuttgart, our franchise partners, investors, and most importantly, our beloved customers. They are the center of everything we do,” his post said.

The company also unveiled two vehicles which are the EQS 450 SUV, and the electrifying G580 with EQ technology.

“These products are a true testament to our commitment to both innovation and the environment,” Iyer said.

“As we continue to grow, innovate, and make strides toward sustainability, we remain committed to offering products that represent the pinnacle of luxury, performance, and green technology. The journey doesn’t end here—our mission to create a zero-emission future is gaining momentum, and we’re proud to lead the way,” he added.
