Kiran Ramamurthy of Media.Monks to join Ogilvy’s 82.5 Communications as CEO

Kiran Ramamurthy, COO of Media.Monks India, will be joining Ogilvy’s 82.5 Communications as the Chief Executive Officer, according to reliable sources. Ramamurthy will be serving his notice period at Media.Monks till the end of May 2024.

Recently, exchange4media reported that two leaders from Media.Monks – Azazul Haque (Chief Content Officer) and Kiran Ramamurthy – had put in their papers. Media.Monks under their leadership had witnessed an unprecedented boom, crossing the Rs 100-crore mark in revenue in less than four years of the agency’s inception in India.

This development would also mark Ramamurthy’s return to Ogilvy. He had served as the Executive Vice President of Ogilvy before joining Media.Monks in August 2019 and was associated with Ogilvy in Bangalore for seven long years. He has also worked with agencies like Leo Burnett and Lowe India; and handled brands like Toyota, Coca-Cola, Wheel (Unilever), SAB Miller and Standard Chartered Bank. Ramamurthy was also part of the team that launched Lenovo in India, on the brand side.

exchange4media reached out to Ramamurthy but he was unavailable for comment at the time of filing the story. Representatives from 82.5 Communications and Ogilvy claimed that they were not aware of any such development.

82.5 Communications is a specialist agency, part of the Ogilvy network, and was launched in 2019 as an ‘India-specific creative agency’. Three months ago, Kapil Arora, the Chairman and CEO of 82.5 in India moved to Ogilvy Indonesia, taking over as the COO. The position of the CEO has been lying vacant since then in India.
