Groq has announced a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Nvidia covering Groq’s inference technology, marking a significant collaboration between the two companies in the AI compute ecosystem. The agreement underscores a shared objective to expand access to high-performance, cost-efficient inference solutions at scale.
As part of the arrangement, Jonathan Ross, Founder of Groq, Sunny Madra, President of Groq, along with other members of the Groq team, will join Nvidia to support the advancement and scaling of the licensed inference technology. The move is aimed at accelerating adoption and enabling broader deployment across AI workloads.
Despite the licensing deal, Groq will continue to operate as an independent company. As part of this transition, Simon Edwards has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, taking charge of the company’s next phase of growth and execution.
Groq also confirmed that GroCloud, its cloud-based inference platform, will continue to operate without interruption, ensuring continuity for existing customers and partners.
The partnership highlights the growing emphasis on inference efficiency in AI infrastructure, as companies seek faster, more economical ways to deploy large-scale models across industries.
