Govt has spent Rs 967 cr in print media ads since 2019

The government has spent Rs 967.46 crore in print media advertisements through the Central Bureau of Communication since 2019, I&B minister Anurag Thakur has informed the Lok Sabha, as per a PTI report.

The expenditure is for the period 2019-2020 to 2023-24.

As per MIB, 1,48,363 periodicals were registered with the Registrar of Newspapers for India in 2023. While it was 1,46,045 in 2022, the figure was 1,44,520 in 2021, 1,43,423 in 2020 and 1,19,995 in 2019.
