Google Search enhanced with ‘sponsored results’ label and hide button for ads

Google is rolling out a new update to how adverts are shown in its search results, aiming to make the experience clearer and easier to navigate for users.

Text ads on Google Search will now appear together under one “Sponsored results” label. This label will remain visible as users scroll, making it more obvious which listings are paid-for. In addition, a new control has been introduced allowing users to hide these sponsored results with a single click.

The"hide sponsored results" button at the bottom of the ad section lets users collapse it and hide those ads from view. However, this only hides the ads for that search, they’ll still appear in future searches. This option is designed for those who prefer to focus only on the organic, or unpaid, results.

The new “Sponsored” label will also apply to other types of adverts, including shopping ads. These changes are being rolled out globally across both desktop and mobile devices.
