Rakshit Hargave to take over from Varun Berry as MD and CEO
Britannia Industries on Monday announced that Varun Berry has resigned from his position as Vice-Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer with effect from the close of business on November 10, 2025.
The company has appointed Rakshit Hargave as its new Chief Executive Officer and additional Whole-time Director. The information was shared by the company in a BSE filing. Hargave's appointment is effective for a five-year term, starting December 15, 2025, subject to shareholder approval.
In a regulatory filing, the company said Berry had submitted his resignation letter and had proposed to serve the notice period as per his employment contract. The Board of Directors, on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, accepted his resignation and waived his notice period obligation.
“The Board placed on record its appreciation for his contributions to the company and wished him all the best in his future endeavours,” Britannia said.
Berry has been with the FMCG major for close to 13 years, joining in January 2013 and has played a key role in driving its growth and profitability.
Prior to Britannia, he has held several senior leadership roles at PepsiCo, including CEO of PepsiCo Foods India and Chief Executive Officer of International Dairy and Juice, besides earlier assignments in the Philippines, Vietnam and India. He began his career with Unilever India in 1986.
