TV Naarayan to Join Akasa Air as Chief Marketing Officer

TV Naarayan who recently stepped down from his role as Chief Marketing Officer at IDFC First Bank is set to take on a new leadership role with Akasa Air. Highly placed sources have confirmed this news to exchange4media.

In this role, he will oversee the airline’s marketing, corporate communications & ESG, customer experience, eCommerce, customer loyalty, and partnerships functions. He will also serve as a member of Akasa’s Executive Committee.

Naarayan’s last working day at IDFC First Bank was August 22, 2025, bringing to a close a tenure marked by significant contributions to the brand’s marketing strategy and customer engagement initiatives.

During his career at IDFC First Bank, Naarayan led diverse mandates spanning brand strategy, sponsorships, digital marketing, customer loyalty, branch campaigns and strategic alliances. His journey in marketing began as Assistant Manager at Kotak Securities, followed by senior roles at TimesOfMoney, Motilal Oswal Securities, PayPal and other financial and digital firms, before he joined IDFC First Bank to helm its marketing function.

In his farewell note, Naarayan expressed gratitude to the leadership at IDFC First Bank, particularly Managing Director and CEO V Vaidyanathan, for building a culture rooted in ethics and inclusivity. He described his experience at the bank as personally fulfilling, noting that he leaves not just as an employee but with a network of friends and well-wishers, while continuing to remain a loyal customer.

Naarayan’s next chapter will see him transition into the aviation sector with Akasa Air, one of India’s youngest airlines, which began operations in August 2022 and has rapidly grown its network. His extensive experience in brand building and customer engagement is expected to add momentum to the airline’s ambitious growth plans in the competitive aviation landscape.
