In a major shake-up in India’s media agency landscape, Starcom, part of Publicis Groupe, has secured the integrated media mandate for the Flipkart Group, multiple sources familiar with the matter told exchange4media.
The account, estimated at Rs 700–750 crore, was previously handled by WPP. According to sources, the mandate was awarded following a competitive multi-agency pitch and encompasses end-to-end integrated media planning and buying across digital as well as traditional platforms.
The scope of work spans the entire Flipkart Group portfolio, including the core Flipkart marketplace and its verticals and group companies such as Myntra, Shopsy, Cleartrip and Super.money, among others.
Industry executives say the consolidated mandate reflects Flipkart Group’s push towards tighter media orchestration, sharper ROI measurement and more unified consumer journeys across its rapidly expanding commerce, fashion, travel and fintech businesses.
Sources added that Starcom’s win was driven by its integrated planning proposition, which blends data-led digital buying with scale-led traditional media execution—an approach increasingly favoured by large advertisers seeking single-window accountability across platforms.
The development further strengthens Publicis Groupe’s presence among India’s largest advertisers, particularly in ecommerce and digital-first categories where media spends are substantial and highly dynamic.
While neither Flipkart Group nor Starcom Publicis has officially commented on the development, sources indicate that the transition is already underway. The mandate is expected to go live shortly, making it one of the largest media account movements of the year.
